Cumming's Memories, 25) ; b. 1749, May, at Helston, Cornwall. As heir and
representative of Sir William Gordon, 6th bart., of Gordonstown, he assumed
name and arms of Gordon of Gordonstown, and was created a baronet, 1804,
May 21 ; m. 1773, Sep. 9 Helen (1754-1832), fourth dau. of Sir Ludovick
Grant, bart., of Grant (Scots Peerage, vii. 485), and had seven sons and
