tempt, and always putting off. Sayzt= say it, attempt it; so, perhaps,
also delayit= de\a.y it, though it may stand for past participle. “ Medi¬

belongs to the verb set; to set by or aby = to care for, to regard. Cf.

28. This line, in which the punctuation of the broadside is retained,
yields quite a satisfactory sense as it stands, and perhaps accurately
expresses the meaning of the writer. The passage, however, would
be considerably improved were we to throw out the comma after men,
and substitute a comma for the period at the end of 1. 28 : “ And,
although true men have here but tribulation, we should not wonder
at such things, as if some new experience had fallen to the lot of
man,” &c.
