This part contains pp. 127-318, continuing the Monarche
from 1. 3855 to the end on p. 206. This is followed by The
Tragedie of the Late Cardinal, pp. 207-222 ; The Testament
and Complaint of the Papingo, pp. 223-262 ; The Dream of
Sir David Lindsay, pp. 263-302 ; The Complaint of Sir David
Lindsay, pp. 303-317 ; and on p. 318 is Scot’s advertisement
to the readers warning them against Petit’s editions. The
textual variants run throughout, but as the Lambeth MS.
does not contain the minor poems, only the variants of the
Edinburgh MS. of these are given.
As in the case of the first part of this edition, I have described
the revised second impression in preference to the first.
