| Description | Photograph of a two storey building with shops on the ground floor. The windows above ground floor are in three groups of four. In the centre above the windows there are two large chimneys. On the ground floor there is a series of shops with the following signs: Fruit Vegetables etc., Marcus's Cash Stores, 'Registered Dairy' and 'Ices and Confectionery'. On the left there are four advertisement posters for cigarettes posted to the left wall beside the furit and vegetable shop. In fron tof the cash stores there is a small boy sitting on the pavement looking away from the camera sown the street. Further along at the Ices and Confectioner's there are two women. |

| Description | 138 black-and-white photographs taken in 1929 taken by Alfred Henry Rushbrook on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Improvement Trust. Shows tenements and shops around St Leonards before buildings were pulled down for slum clearance. Half-plate gelatin-silver prints. Precise address of building is given where known. |
