| Description | Photograph of a three storey tenement street with shops on the ground floor. On the left there are men working on the road with piles of rubble and equipment around them. Further up the street on the right there are people walking up the street and some standing outside the shops. In the centre there is a confectioner's shop, the sign reads: E. Lister Meats. Home Confections. Outside this shop there is a woman, a push chair with a child in it and two children sitting on the pavement. Further up on the right of the confectioner's there are a group of people standing by the archway. In the upper storeys of the building laundry has been hung on the washing lines. |

| Description | 138 black-and-white photographs taken in 1929 taken by Alfred Henry Rushbrook on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Improvement Trust. Shows tenements and shops around St Leonards before buildings were pulled down for slum clearance. Half-plate gelatin-silver prints. Precise address of building is given where known. |
