| Description | Photograph of a four storey Tenement building with shops on the ground floor. The shops are: a Hardware store called Barrie's Stores which has a whole range of its' wares hung up around the shop front. A Boot Repairer, Barney's Stores and a Restaurant. Outside Barrie's Stores there are five children and a woman. Further left there is a boy standing in the doorway. Along the street there are some people standing outside the Restaurant and also two boys sitting on the ground. There is an extra sign above Barry's Stores reading 'Barney's Stores House Furnishing as Advertised.' |

Shows tenements and shops around St Leonards before buildings were pulled down for slum clearance. Half-plate gelatin-silver prints. Precise address of building is given where known. |
