THE PROGRESS OF HEALTH THROUGHOUT THE WORLD
In this volume, forty Health Departments — of five Continents — describe the measures of defence
they have introduced to stamp out epidemics, the campaign they wage against social diseases, and
their endeavours to raise the level of public health.
It further includes, in the form of standard — and therefore comparable — tables, all the most
recent vital and nosological statistics. . .
The contributions from the Colonial Health Administrations have been given the increased
space due to their growing importance, while the chapter devoted to industrial hygiene has nearly
doubled the volume.
