The foreign trade of Uruguay springs almost entirely from agricultural and animal
production and its dependent industries.

Satisfactory progress in the index figures for agriculture is shown from 1924 onwards
in the proportions corresponding to each category of exports. This indicates an appreciable
increase, and proves that agriculture is growing steadily and progressively.
