Dear Mr Murray
I should have written
at once to express my joy
at the finding of the box of
negatives but for illness and
since my recovery for hard
work. Now, all my baggage
including a great Korean sheet
has gone to Chemulpo on the
back of a huge bull, and as I
gave a farewell reception yest
erday and only see two or
three intimate friends today
and have a farewell audience
of the King I seem to have a
little leisure before starting
on my homeward journey
to-morrow – the first for the
three months that I have been
here.
Yes certainly, my joy at hearing
that my negatives were safe
quite equalled my sorrow
at their supposed loss for
