13,997 inspections, and is closely followed by Surgeon-Lieutenant-Colonel
Russell of Dacca with 13,487. There is then a difference of 1,595 between
him and third on the list, who is the Civil Surgeon of Saran, and a wide
difference between first five, viz., those who inspected more than 10,000 cases,
and the remainder, especially the Civil Surgeons who occupy the lowest
