The Native Superintendent inspected 9,616 cases in 855 villages, and found
75.42 per cent. successful.

Seoni.—Work was commenced in this district with animal lymph, kept up
by the Municipal vaccinator.

432 calves were vaccinated during the season.

The total number of operations done during the year was 12,110, of which
11,290 were performed by animal lymph.

The Civil Surgeon visited 255 villages, and inspected 1,921 cases, and found
1,286 children successfully vaccinated.

The Native Superintendent inspected 637 villages, and saw 4,230 children
successfully protected by vaccination.

Balaghat.—This is the 3rd district in which animal lymph was used in all
the cases of vaccine operations, to secure which 463 buffalo calves were inoculated.

The total number of operations done during the season was 8,566, of which
557 were performed by Civil Hospital Assistants.

The Civil Surgeon was on tour for 34 days, and visited 283 villages and saw
2,638 children with a successful result of 92.34 per cent.

The Native Superintendent inspected 5,220 children, and found that 96.67
per cent. were successfully vaccinated.

Bhandara.—In this district 953 buffalo calves were vaccinated during the
working season without any cost. Each vaccinator was provided with sufficient
animal lymph at the commencement of the season with which to commence work.

Out of the 27,726 cases vaccinated both by vaccinators and Civil Hospital
Assistants, 22,055 were vaccinated with animal lymph.

The Civil Surgeon was on tour for 40 days, and inspected 5,720 cases in
404 villages and found that 91 per cent. were successfully vaccinated.

The Native Superintendent inspected 10,994 children, and found that 92 per
cent. were successfully vaccinated.

Nagpur.—The supply of lymph was kept up in the City of Nagpur during
the non-working season by means of arm-to-arm vaccination, as well as by the
inoculation of buffalo calves.

A sufficient quantity of animal lymph was supplied to all the vaccinators and
also to the Hospital Assistants of the outlying dispensaries.

540 buffalo calves were inoculated during the working season.

The total number of vaccinations performed with animal lymph was 14,383,
of which 13,474 proved successful.

The Civil Surgeon inspected in all 273 cases, of which he found 264 successful.

The Assistant Surgeon who was deputed to inspect the vaccination work
of this district was on tour for about two months, and inspected 4,266 cases in 554
villages. He found that 90 per cent. of the children were successfully vaccinated.

The native Superintendent was out on tour for 156 days, and inspected 8,207
children and found 89 per cent successfully vaccinated.

Wardha.—Work was commenced in this district with lanoline paste, mostly
-obtained from Bombay and Mysore.

In this district 386 buffalo calves were vaccinated, and the lymph obtained
from them was used throughout the working season.

Out of 12,304 total operations performed by vaccinators and Civil Hospital
Assistants of this district, 11,498 were done with animal lymph.

The Civil Surgeon inspected 1,402 children and found 1,360 successfully
vaccinated.

The Native Superintendent was on tour for 131 days, and visited 126 villages
and found nearly 98 per cent. successfully vaccinated.

Chanda.—In this district locally produced animal lymph was relied on to
commence operations, and 337 calves were inoculated during the working
season.
