In this connexion, it may be noted that, in Ganjām. District, two Taluk
boards have accepted the proposal to provide a reserve set of vaccinators'
equipment for use in case of emergency, this being kept in charge of the District
Health Officer. This arrangement is undoubtedly sound and is commended for
adoption by other Taluk-Boards in the Presidency.

As compared with 1925-26, the figures for the present year record increases
in eleven districts and decreases in the others. Marked increases are reported from
South Arcot(+11,539), Agency districts (+ 10,607), Ganjām (+5,100), Bellary
(+4,530), Kurnool (+3,858) and Coimbatore (+3,235). The increase in South
Arcot District is ascribed to the better registration of births, the detection of a large
number of unregistered unprotected children and the appointment of additional
temporary vaccinators. In the Agency Districts, the large increase is due to the
appointment of eight additional vaccinators consequent on the formation of four
new ranges. In Ganjām, the introduction of compulsory vaccination throughout
the district, the increased minima demanded of the vaccinators and the large
