It will be seen from the above that 6 Deputy Inspectors have failed to verify
50 per cent. of the cases vaccinated in their ranges. Their explanations have been
called for and on receipt thereof their cases will be dealt with on their merits.
The following are the circles in which failures have occurred, viz., Calicut (25.0),
East Coimbatore (38.1), Chatrapur (39.4), Trichinopoly (40.8), Saidapet (44.5)
and Guntur (49.7).
16. The following tables show the results of ' calf-to-arm' vaccination,
operations performed with animal lymph sent out in tubes, glycerine paste and
lanoline paste. As usual fresh animal lymph shows the greatest percentage of
success, viz., 97.6, then comes vaccine sent out between glass plates without any
preservative, then lanoline paste and lastly glycerine with 95.9, 88.0 and 82.4,
respectively:—
