There was an increase in the amount of work performed in the dispensaries
of the Ellichpur and Basim Districts, but a falling off in other districts.
The average number of cases operated upon by each Hospital Assistant
during the year was 173, ranging from 331 at Shegaon to 113 at Chandur in
the Amraoti District.

Gauged by the proportion of the estimated births protected, the best work
was done at the Chikhli dispensary, where 80.5 per cent. were operated upon.
Burrur comes next with 77.3 per cent., and then Panderkowra and Daryapur
with 69.2 and 61.1 per cent. respectively. Omitting the new dispensaries but
lately opened the work done at the dispensaries of Pimpalgaon Raja, Karanja,
Malkapur and Chandur, in the Amraoti District, would show that the Hospital
