In Deolali Cantonment there were 129 primary vaccinations
performed by the S. M. S. Officer in charge of the Cantonment
Hospital of which 107 were returned as successful giving a percentage
of 83.72.

The Compulsory Vaccination Act which was brought into force in
Belgaum Cantonment from 15th May 1925 continued throughout the
year. The work was in charge of the Cantonment Medical Officer
who performed 235 primary and 49 re-vaccinations.

20. The practice of inoculation was detected in Labdarya and
Thul talukas.

In Labdarya taluka there was insufficient evidence on which to
prosecute.

In Thul taluka the vaccinator while performing work found some
children inoculated by a Syad who absconded to Kalhat territory.
A case was filed against 4 persons who had got their children
inoculated by him. They were convicted under section 22 of the
Vaccination Act I of 1892 and fined Rs. 15 each.

Another inoculator also a Mahomedan was reported by the
vaccinator of the same taluka to have inoculated several children.
Papers together with the list of inoculated children submitted by the
vaccinator have been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner,
Jacobabad.
