The rate of protection, though higher in Aden, Muskat, Khelat and Bushire
is calculated on the population of Aden only,—for other circles it is not available.
The next highest ratio is 41.45 in Cutch and lowest in the Presidency Circle
On the whole 33.35 persons of all ages per every 1,000 of population against
33.25 last year were primarily vaccinated successfully.

21. At the rate of 31 per mille of population, and on the total population
of 25,615,528, there were successfully vaccinated 75.32
out of every 100 infants available against 75.05 in
1888-89. The subjoined table shows the number of
infants protected out of those available for vaccination
at the rate of 31 per mille of population, by districts
and circles, as likewise the protection of children between 1 and 6 years old :—

It will be seen from the above, that the Cutch Circle shows the highest per-
centage of 90.49 infants protected. The next highest percentage of protection
was in the Central Registration District, being 86.43, and in the Baroda Circle,
86.09.
