13. Vaccination in municipal towns—
Appendix A.—Appendix A shows the number of
children under one year of age who were available for
vaccination in municipal towns and notified areas and the
actual number of vaccinations performed on them during the
year. The excess in vaccinations over births is due to the
fact that many people from across the border, when passing
through, submit their children for vaccination.
14. Case success and annual ratio of deaths from
small-pox—
Appendix B.—In Appendix B are shown the number
of successful vaccinations and the mortality of small-pox per
mille of population during the past year. During the past
five years the average number of deaths from small-pox was
336 and the average mortality per 1,000 of population was
0.15. During the year under report there were 466 deaths,
giving a ratio of 0.21 per 1,000 of population. The reported
number of deaths from this disease in the various districts
during the year 1925-26 and 1926-27 are as follows :—
