of vaccinations performed was 2,792 against 854 in the preceding year In
the Cantonments of Peshawar and Nowshera, where vaccination work is done

Cost per successful cases.

11. The total number of successful operations was 111,691 out of
116,803 actually performed, and the cost per successful
case was Re. 0-2-4, an increase of 4 pies per case over
the preceding year. The cause of this increase is mostly due to a certain amount
of wastage of lymph which occurs owing to some tubes having to be thrown
away half used through lack of cases at the particular time they are opened.
If this could be avoided, the cost per successful case would be much less than
it has been in the past.

Statement No. III.—Dispensary
vaccination.

12. A very small amount of vaccination was
done at the Tochi Civil Dispensary.

Statement No. IV.—Work done
during the past 19 years.

13. A smaller number of operations has been performed during the
year under report than in any of the preceding five
years, the influenza epidemic being the main cause
for the decrease during the year under report.
