TRIENNIAL REPORT ON VACCINATION IN THE UNITED PROV-
      INCES OF AGRA AND OUDH FOR THE YEARS 1923-24, 1924.
      25 AND 1925-26.

Period covered by
the report.

1. This report deals with vaccination during the triennium 1923-
24 to 1925-26, but more especially with the
work done in 1925-26, brief notes on the work
of the preceding two years having already been
submitted.

Area and popula-
tion.

2. During the triennium under report the area of the province, ex-
cluding the States of Rampur, Benares and Tehri-
Garhwal, was 107,167 square miles and the popula-
tion 45,375,787.

Officers in charge of
the department.

3. The charge of the department was held by me throughout the trien-
nium, except for the period from April 23 to
October 27, 1925, when I was on leave ex-India
and Lieut.-Colonel W. A. Mearns, M.B., D.P.H., I.M.S.,
officiated for me.

4. The charge of the several ranges was held
by the following Assistant Directors of Public
Health during the triennium under report:—

                                    I RANGE

(1)  Major (now Lieutenant-Colonel) W. A. Mearns, I.M.S., from April
1, 1923 to February 12, 1924,

(2)  Captain D. Clyde, D.P.H., I.M.S., from February 13, 1924 to
March 29, 1926, and

(3)   Dr. K. L. Chaudhri, D.P.H. (London), March 30 and 31, 1926.

                                    II RANGE.

(1)  Major T. D. Murison, D.P.H., I.M.S., from April 1 to November
25, 1923.

(2)  Major (now.Lieutenant-Colonel) W. A. Mearns, M.B., D.P.H., I.M.S.,
from November 26, 1923 to February 27, 1924, from November 2, 1924
to April 22, 1925 and from October 28, 1925 to March 31, 1926.

(3)  Captain D. Clyde, D.P.H., I.M.S. (collateral charge), from February,
28 to November 1, 1924 and from April 23 to October 27, 1925.

                                    III RANGE.

(1)  Dr. A. Sousa, D.P.H., from April 1,1923 to May 9, 1924, from
November 9, 1924 to September 3, 1925 and from January 4 to March
31, 1926.

(2)  Dr. K. P. Mathur, D.P.H. (collateral charge), from May 10 to
November 8, 1924 and from September 4, 1925 to January 3, 1926.

                                    IV RANGE.

Dr. K. P. Mathur, D.P.H., throughout the triennium, except from June
1 to July 1, 1925, during which period he was deputed to the Central
Research Institute, Kasauli, for a special course of instruction in malaria
and Dr. A. Sousa held collateral charge of the range.
