         37. Committee of visitors.—Both ladies and gentlemen of
the Board of Visitors attended the Hospital meetings regularly-
and took great interest in the welfare of the patients.

         Twelve meetings in the male section and twelve in the
female section were held during the year under report.

         The hospital was also visited by the following officials and
other distinguished personages during the year under report: —

         1.  His Excellency Sir T. A. Stewart, K.C.S.I, C.I.E., I.C.S.,
Governor of Bihar.

         2.  The Hon'ble Mr. Anugrah Narayan Singh, Minister in
charge, Local Self-Government Department, Bihar.

         3.  The Inspector-General of Civil Hospitals, Bihar.

         4.  The Surgeon-General with the Government of Bengal.

         5.  The members of the Managing Committee.

         6.  The Commissioner, Chota Nagpur Division.

         7.  Dr. T. A. Thomas, M.D., of the Royal Medico-Psychologi-
cal Association of Great Britain and Ireland.

         38. Casual visitors.—The hospital was visited by many
ladies and gentlemen, Indians and Europeans throughout the
year under report.

         I am very grateful to all the ladies and gentlemen for their
kind contributions during the year under report to the Donation
Fund of the Hospital, on the occasion of a special appeal from
me or during their visit to the hospital.

         I also acknowledge my indebtedness to Mr. and Mrs. Colah
of Calcutta for sending 500 packets of best Navy Cut Cigarettes
to be distributed to the patients after their visit to the Hospital
in July 1938.

         39. Lectures.—-As in the previous years the students of the
Prince of "Wales Medical College, Patna, were sent in two batches
to this Hospital during the year under review to undergo a course
of intensive training in mental diseases with demonstration

         of cases.

         As in the past, the post-graduate students of the Department
of Psychology and Philosophy of the Universities of Dacca,
Calcutta and Lucknow visited the Hospital during the year under
report. On these occasions short lectures were delivered to thems
with demonstration of cases.
