15. Cases under observation.—The total number of cases
held under remand for brief periods of observation was 53
(36 males and 17 females), viz. 4 (1 male and 3 females) in 1932,
25 (16 males and 9 females) in 1931 and 24 (19 males and 5
females) in 1930. Of the 53 cases, 23 (6 males and 17 females)
were certified and admitted ; 12 males were discharged as
uncertifiable ; 17 males were certified as non-violent and easily
manageable at homes and were released by the committing
Magistrates and 1 male patient died of Uraemia (Diabetes)
during his period of observation.
