During the year under review the ratio per cent of cases
cured to daily average strength was practically the same as in
1930. During the year under report we had 132 admissions as
compared with 99 in 1930 and 93 in 1929, The total discharges
were 87 in 1931 as compared with 81 in 1930 and 78 in 1929.

In spite of this progressive increase in discharges our ratio
per cent of cures to total admissions is low compared to 1930 and
1929. This is due to the fact that during the year under report
we had a large number of admissions (132) and majority of
them were chronic insanes who had been kept for a considerable
time either at their homes or in jails for want of accommodation
in this hospital. One, therefore, cannot expect cures from such
chronic cases within a year, hence the low percentage of cures
to total admissions.
