25.     The general conduct and behaviour of the students were satis-
factory. Strict discipline was maintained during the year.

26.     The general health of the students was good and no outbreak
of any infectious or other serious disease occurred. All sick students
were properly attended to and given medicines from the College
Pharmacy under directions of the Medical Officer who was in regular
attendance. All complaints of the students were also seen to and
remedied.

                                  Sports and Gymnasium.

28.     Rupees 573 were raised by subscription from the students
and sanction of Government to the payment of a contribution of Rs. 335
only was obtained as in last year. As usual, various games were in-
dulged in by the College teams under the direct supervision of the
Physical Instructor. The Gymnasium is now well equipped.

29.     The students were examined in Drill and other physical exer-
cises by the College Gymnasium Instructor and three prizes were
awarded.

                                        Hospitals.

30.     During the year under report there were, on an average, 122
cases treated daily or a total of 3,390 patients treated during the year
in the College hospitals; 170 major operations were performed as
against 3,370 patients and 410 operations respectively in the previous
year.

31.     Out of 8,040 prosecutions under the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals Act during the year under consideration in the Calcutta Police
Courts, some 229 animals only were sent to this College infirmary for
rest and treatment by the trying Magistrate against 4,944 prosecutions
and 247 detentions in hospital during 1931-32.

32.     The fees for treatment, etc., were Rs. 12,942 and the cost of
feeding Rs. 14,104 against Rs. 17,103 and Rs. 13,029 respectively, of
previous year. The cost included the free treatment and upkeep of
riding ponies, breeding and draft cattle belonging to the College and
of the free treatment of patients of poor people.

33.     There is a well-equipped Shoeing Forgo attached to the College
where horses and cattle are shod with ordinary and surgical shoes.

34.     The X-Ray and Ultra-Violet Ray apparatus of this College
were taken advantage of in diagnosis of obscure cases and treatment.
