Foot-and-mouth disease ...

Khoorai, thaka, kharha, bhyargarah,
kurpaka, jora, esban, gorang, chup
chupea, thuka, chapka, phatnn, taf,
batem, and aishai.

(1) Coal tar, tobacco leaves mixed with lime and sugar
if worms are present; (2) sarifa (custard apple),
farad leaves (Erythrina Indica), kulki (Pierorhizz
Kurror), powdered tobacoo, banour, and farhad
shavings (Erythrina Indica); (3) kerosine and
camphor, and animals kept standing in mud;
(4) decoction of Simar tree bark (Eriodendron
anfractuosum); (5) pipar bark decoction; (6) sisu
oil, camphor, and bhalin; (7) decoction of bel
leaves; (8) turpentine and arum to sores; (9) nim
oil to sores.

Cowpox ...

Go basanta, chuk back, barka dukh,
guti, chichok, basanta, matu, or
mataji.

(1) Kanja (thin gruel) and dahi. No medicine is given
for nine days. If the animal recovers after that, it
is given nourishing diet; (2) roswat (Lycium Indi-
cum), mehdi leaf (Lawsonia Alba), each 1 tola,
given internally, is said to bo very beneficial; (3)
burnt resin near the animal; (4) deprived of drink-
ing-water; (5) chiretta, camphor, and water; (6)
water withheld and turmeric, betel, and molasses
given; (7) honey, dhania (coriander seed), and
sugar; (8) infusion of chiretta, indrajale (Wrightia
Antidysenterica) alog (aloo, potato), and niltaunt;
(0) rusan sag (a kind of grass). It is said that
if the animal cannot masticate it, it will die; (10)
alum, guava leaves, Bhuin titan (Batatas cdulis),
Bisch mutha, khudi mamud, and nim leaves
powdered with water and given with plantain
leaves; (11) jaipal (nutmeg), turpentine, salt, and
crocodile flesh given internally.

Tympanites ...

Petphula, jurbindha, tepu, budla, bari
kaven, tepa monia, tilla karhi, ful-
bagha, daki.

(1) Khari nimuk (crude sulphate of soda) and mustard
oil internally; (2) juice of chewed betel-nut, betel
leaf, tobacco, and lime pressed into the nostrils of
the animal; (3) leaves of akunda; (4) jowain
(ajwain) with ginger; (5) branding abdomen; (6) a
small quantity of tiger's flesh, kohra, cobweb,
chillies, barley, and bael fruit (Œgle Marmelos);
(7) leaves and flowers of kholur plant (Anisomeles
Avata); (8) twigs of nal (a kind of cane), kesoer
plant, fowl's ogg, and pigeon's dung; (9) dry fruit
of sitphalla (custard apple); (10) draughts of hot
water mixed with molasses; (11) garlic, Koram-
phala seed (pepper and salt in draughts).

Diarrhœa ...

Dakha, tamri (sheep), tok tokia, bhed,
pakaba, petchala alanta.

(1) Kurmi sâg; (2) reharia salt; (3) old pepper, turmeric,
and mustard oil: (4) young bamboo leaves; (6)
branded with hot irons; (6) molasses, duck's eggs,
turmeric, and jute leaves made into paste and
applied to abdomen.

Anthrax

Darks, gulabanga, girgitia, galaphula,
paschima, dagra, ghontee, gilti,
jazatisar.

(1) Branded with hot irons; (2) myrabolan, pepper, and
white kujram with water internally given; (3)
chilly plasters around the neck; (4) internally strong
decoction of tobacco and onions; (6) smoked with
burning husks; (6) jute soaked with gab juice is
J burnt and the ashes mixed with boiled rice and
plantain leaf; (7) root of pomegranate trees that
have not borne fruit.

Charbon symptomatique ...

Badlam, jhuri bari, ghang, joharbat,
badla, pockpokia, pairhperi.

(1) Branded; (2) mohua oil and deer's intestine; (3)
fumigation with rye stalks and koomra leaves; (4)
burnt cowdung plasters; (6) onion and salt given
internally.
