44. Indian Science Congress.—The Research Officer attended
at his own expense the Indian Science Congress held in January
last to read his paper on the 'Discovery of the Oesophageal
stage larva of Hypoderma lineatum on Indian Cattle'.

45. Buildings.—A sum of Rs. 10,384 was spent by the
Public Works Department on the construction of additional
buildings and for laying out gardens and planting shrubs in the
compound of the Research Officer's residence.

46. Water-Supply and Drainage.—The work was completed
during the year and water was made available from 1st
June 1930.

47.  Visitors.—His Excellency the Governor was pleased to
visit the college on 1st April 1931. The college was also visited
by Col. A. Olver, C.B., C.M.G., F.R.C. V.S., Animal Husbandry
Expert to the Imperial Council of Agricultural Research in
December last.

48. Diploma and Prize distribution.—The first diploma
and prize distribution ceremony of the college was held on 18th
April 1931. The Hon'ble Mr. J. T. Whitty, C.I.E., I.C.S., was
kind enough to preside at the function.

49.  Conclusion.—It is a matter of great satisfaction that
the period under report though it comprises the first year of
the existence of the college has been one of satisfactory start
in all directions.

50. Great difficulty was experienced in carrying on the
administration work of the college mainly because of the want of
sufficient clerical staff. The question has been carefully gone
into by the Governing Body which taking into account the
financial state of the Province have been pleased to recommend
the revision of the Head Clerk's pay and the appointment of
one extra clerk only for the present. I hope that Government
will accept the recommendation quickly, as I am unable to
vouch for proper despatch of office work unless the recommenda-
tion is acted upon.

51. Acknowledgments.—I desire to record here my thanks to
the members of the staff—teaching, subordinate and clerical—for
the loyal and faithful manner in which they have carried out
their duties and my appreciation for the enthusiastic spirit with
which they have entered into the task of making the new
institution a success.

                                            R. T. DAVIS, I. V. S.,
                                                      Principal,
