                        VI.—GENERAL REMARKS.

39. Although the total number of cases treated or supplied with medicines
is only 110 in excess of last year's total, much more work was done in the dis-
tricts by the Veterinary Assistants, especially rinderpest inoculation.

The appointment of Deputy Superintendent has been extended until the
retirement of Khan Bahadur S. G. Haji but the Government has not yet sanc-
tioned the posts of Veterinary Inspectors for Sind. These appointments are
essential if the work of the Veterinary Assistants is to be properly supervised.
It is impossible for the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent to conti-
nually check the work of individual Veterinary Assistants, especially when there
are severe outbreaks of rinderpest to be attended to.
