32. Owing to financial stringency, touring by Veterinary
Assistant Surgeons for the purpose of castration and treatment of
ordinary diseases had to be stopped.
33. Eighty-seven horses were landed at the Port of Karachi. Of
these 52 horses belonged to the Military Department, 1 came from
Egypt, 13 from Persian Gulf and 21 from England.
34. At the request of the Agricultural Adviser to the Govern-
ment of India, the following programme of work for the next year
is included in the annual report.
The energies of the department will be directed towards the
investigation of certain diseases and application of modern methods
of treatment, both curative and prophylactic.
