7.    There were 8 scholarships vacant at the commencement of the
year, viz., 4 for youths from the Presidency proper and 4 for youths
from Sind. The 4 vacancies from the Presidency proper were due
to 4 scholars having graduated in April. Of the 4 vacancies from
Sind one was due to a scholarship having been withdrawn as the
student failed to pass his examination and 3 had been vacant since
the previous year. The Principal awarded 4 scholarships to students
from the Presidency proper and the Commissioner in Sind sent
three new scholars and continued scholarship to a student already
studying at the College. There were in all 14 scholars from the
Presidency proper (including 10 already studying at the College)
and 6 from Sind.

The Central Provinces Government continued stipends to 5
scholars already studying in the College and sent 9 more scholars.
Baroda State continued the stipend to a scholar already in the
College and sent 1 more scholar. Gwalior State continued stipends
to 2 scholars already in the College. The States of Dhar, Rajpipla,
Jamkhandi, Miraj, Mysore and the Deccan Maratha Education
Association continued stipends to their scholars. There were thus
44 students in receipt of some assistance from scholarships and 54
without such assistance at the end of the year.

8.    The Students' Hostel.—The College Hostel was fully occupied
and several students had to find accommodation outside the College.
All arrangement regarding the Hostel were satisfactorily carried
out by Mr. Miranda.

9.    The Students' Gymkhana.—Football, Hockey, Tennis and
Cricket were played as usual and matches against outside teams
were arranged as in previous years. Athletic sports were held
as usual.

10.    Riding Class, Drill, etc.—The Final year students went
through the course of equitation at His Excellency the Governor's
Body Guard's Riding School at Mahalaxmi and other students
were put through a course of physical drill by Staff-Sergeant Farrier
Burt, the Instructor of Shoeing.

11.    Excursion of Students.—During the year the Final year
students visited the Poona Agricultural College and the Military
Dairy Farm at Kirkee. Local Excursions were made to places of
interest as usual.

12.    The Health of Students.—The health of the students on the
whole was good. There was no epidemic or any severe illness
amongst them. The Medical Officer attended whenever necessary.

13.    Discipline.—The attendance of students at lectures, demons-
trations and clinical classes was satisfactory and their behaviour
was good.

14.    Clinical Instruction.—This was carried out in the Bai
Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals as usual. During the
year under report 2,737 in-patients and 990 out-patients were
treated, a total of 3,727 patients. Of the in-patients 266 were
