With reference to para. 2 of Government Resolution No. 2286, dated 8th
December 1906, E. D., I have the honour to communicate the following remarks
on the Annual Report of the Bombay Veterinary College for 1908-09, a proof
copy of which was received direct from the Government Central Press, Bombay.

2. The results of the examination are satisfactory.

3. The number of students who come from the Bombay Presidency is
considerably less than half. Of the 35 students who joined the College during
the year under report only 16 belonged to this Presidency, and of these 7 were
scholars.

4. It is to country boys that we would naturally look to fill the College;
but the life in Bombay is not very popular with such. I anticipate no difficulty,
however, next year in filling the vacancies amongst the scholars with suitable
students drawn from the classes connected with the land.

5. The course at the College is somewhat advanced and elaborate for the
class of students which we obtain and for the requirements of the rural parts.
