from England, and will have to purchase about 14 Arab
stallions locally.

Cost of keep, &c., of horse

13. Appendix VI shows the cost of feed, keep, attendants, transit, &c., of
horse stallions during the year under report, and the
figures noted below give the general annual average
for the past fourteen years:—

Thus there is an increase of Rs. 42-6-9 if compared with the figures of the
last year. The increase is due to the high prices of fodder.

14. The number of branded mares on the regis-
ters at the beginning of the year under report was as
