74. I inspected the marginally noted stallions
and found them in good health. I found the Govern-
ment stallion "Tahlim" very slow coverer, and as he
was old and nearly worn out, I recommended him to be
cast and sold. Here I branded 12 mares for horse and
rejected 20.

Sibi, 20th to 27th February
1891.

75. I arrived here on the morning of the
28th.

76.    This year the show was held on the 23rd February 1891 and following
days. About 837 horses competed for prizes as compared with 706 in last year.
The show was a greater success than that of any previous year, both in number
and quality.

77.    The following is the detail of the number of remounts and young stock
purchased for Government:—

79. All the stallions in Beluchistán, as per margin, were assembled here for

my inspection
and I found
them in good
condition with
the exception of
"Ameer" and
"Cyprus."
"Ameer" was
suffering from
disease of the
liver and I re-
commended him to be sent to Babugarh for treatment, as he had been sick for
a considerable time. "Cyprus" had been suffering from œdema of the sheath,
but was all right when I inspected him.

When here, I was informed by Major Gaisford that 10 more stallions were
required for Beluchistan and he expressed a wish that I would send him 2 good
Arab horses.

Ahmedabad, 9th to 13th
March 1890.

80. I then proceeded to Ahmedabad to attend
the Horse Show.

81. This year 703 animals were exhibited as against 637 the year before.
The show was a success both in number and quality, but I regretted to see a
great many of the exhibits in very poor condition. I here purchased two nice
remounts for Mr. Mackay, Superintendent of Police, Rájkot. The show this
year will be held at an early date.
