Provincial cost of Depart-
ment.
52. The provincia l cost of establishment, &c., incurred in South Punjab-
is shown in Table Q, amounts to Rs. 9,933-0-2.
GENERAL REMARKS.
Glanders and Farcy Act.
53. Two cases of glanders were detected during the month of May 1894
at Pathánkot among the ponies of the Pathánkot-Dunera
line, and one a very bad case at Amritsar in June 1894, all
these animals were destroyed under my supervision and cremated.
Assistance rendered by
district officials.
54. During my late tour I have received every assistance from many
district officers at the early part of the tour, however
many of the Tahsíldárs seemed disinclined to render any
help, this has, I believe, been rectified as they were far more obliging latterly.
Conclusion.
55. In conclusion I have to record that my office work is increasing to
such an extent that an extra clerk will be absolutely neces-
sary before long.
