73. A student failing only in one subject and obtaining 50 per cent. of
marks in the third year or 45 per cent. in the second and first year's exami-
nation, is eligible for re-examination in the subject in which he failed
after a further period of 3 months' study. Soldiers, who, while failing
to qualify at any examination obtain 25 per cent. of marks in each subject,
and 35 per cent. in the aggregate, or are specially recommended by the
Principal, may be allowed to continue their studies at the college for
another year in the same class. A soldier failing twice for the same
examination will be remanded to his regiment.

Text books.

74.  The result of examinations will be communicated to regiments
and departments concerned through the G. O. C., Lahore Dn.

75.  Text books will be given to soldiers. The value of text books
supplied to students belonging to the remount department will, on
their appointment as salutries or veterinary assistants, be recovered,
departmentally, by five equal monthly deductions from their pay.

77. The following records will be kept up for each corps by

I. A. F. V. 1752.

A Record of treatment—I. A. F. Z. 2068—for unusual or important
cases will be kept in S. V. Hs. by Veterinary Officers in charge. This
will be a hospital record only and be retained by the hospital concerned.
The register of sick and lame will accompany a unit on movement.

V. H. Ss.

V. H. Ss. of the animals of a corps which are treated in a S. V. H.
will be made out, in the first instance, by the O. C. the corps, and
handed over to the Veterinary Officer in charge, who will keep them in the
hospital in a portfolio (I. A. F. Z. 2025). They will accompany the
animals concerned.

Reports and
returns.

78. The reports and returns to be rendered by Veterinary Officers
are laid down in I. A. F. Z 2000. Instructions as to their preparation
are, as a rule, given on the forms.

Sick returns
on march-
ing.

79. The office copies of monthly sick returns for the current year
will be given to a corps on quitting a station and will be handed over
by the latter to the veterinary hospital of the station of destination.

Animals left
behind on
the march.

80. The officer handing over an animal which is left behind as unable
to march is responsible that its V. H. S. is given to the receiving
officer for transmission to the officer in charge of the S. V. H., who will,
fortnightly, report the condition of the animal to the Officer in veterinary
charge of the corps to which it belongs.
