(b) Feed Rs. 11,964: upkeep Rs. 2,756.
(c) This includes Rs. 14,453 spent on capital expenditure such as reclamation, purchase of implements, machinery, etc.. construction of buildings.
(d) Includes valuation of animals issued on book credit.
(e) Excludes Rs. 65,398, being the valuation of machinery and dead stock articles, etc.
(f) Under the management of the Bettiah Estate.
(g) Under Government management.
(h) Includes valuation of animals other than cattle.
(i) Includes also the valuation of sheep.
(j) Includes receipt of Rs. 1,500 for cotton, lint and seed sown on the farm.
(k) These proceeds are on account of sales of wild animals caught by the Agriculture Department.
*Note.—(1) The sum of Rs. 14,404 spent by the Public Works Department on original works and special and annual repairs to the Hissar Cattle Farm buildings during the year has not been included in
the statement.
*Note.—(2) The value according to the report of the valuation committee of 1913, of bulls issued to the district boards at Rs. 200 each donkey stallions issued to district boards and paid for from
district funds at Rs. 400 each, and rams sold to district boards and zamindars at Rs. 15 or Rs. 10 is Rs. 400, 700 and 25 each respectively. If this amount had been charged the receipts would have
been increased by Rs. 37,410.

| Description | The Veterinary collection consists of 146 volumes dating from 1864 to 1959. Divided into veterinary diseases, colleges and laboratories and Civil Veterinary Departments. Extensive research on trypanosomiasis and rinderpest. Reports show how veterinary medicine controlled disease, maintained livestock and alleviated famine. They explore its effect on military and local communities. |
