2. At the commencement of the session in July 1918, 37 students joined, of
Whom 25 are public, II private and I (Maung Ohn Ghine) scholar. Two more pri-
vate students joined later, one in August and another in September. An old second
year public student, named Maung Ohn, who left the school in 1917 was permitted
to rejoin as private student in September 1918. All the newly admitted students
are educationally qualified, and several qualified applicants had to be rejected as
the sanctioned number of annual admissions as stipendiary students is only 25.
Altogether 40 students were admitted during the year under review, but private
student M. Alam, who went for the Indian Defence Force training in November
1918 did not return, and Po Aye, another private student, left without notice in
February 1919.
3. The character and health of the students on the whole was good and
satisfactory during the year under report, except that a few students suffered from
Influenza.

5. The annual examination of the third year was held in March 1919, and out
of 25 boys, who appeared, 22 passed and were promoted to the fourth year class.
The three failures Saw Maung, Nga Mai and Maung Hnit, were recommended
to be remanded in the same class for one year without stipends. The results of
the first, second and fourth years are not embodied in this report as the examina-
tions were held in April 1919 only after the year of the report closed.
6. Buildings.—During the year under report the ground floor of the
Northern portion of the building was converted into a general recreation room for
the students, and a partition was put up in the Dissection room.
7. Finance.—The receipts during the year were Rs. 2,138-14-9 and the
expenditure amounted to Rs. 75,488-II-4 as against Rs. 1,511-4.0 and
