9. It is important that substances supposed to contain poison should
be analysed with as little delay as possible. When reasonable
suspicion exists that poison has been used in the commission of an
offence, the substance supposed to contain the poison should be at
once sent to the chemical examiner.
10. Registered parcels up to a limit of 25 seers in weight are
accepted for transmission by post, and the post should, as far as
possible, be used in preference to the railway in medico-legal cases.
