| Description | Colour drawing of Beauly panorama, Ross-shire. A note explains that the view of the priory is largely obscured by Fraser of Lovat's new store house and that the drawing was completed looking out of the window. Beauly Priory is visible in the distance, across the bay. Beauly Priory sits at the heart of Beauly town. This sheet alludes to the new building work by Mr Fraser of Lovat and thirty-eight years later, the Baron of Lovat laid out a new town square around the priory. So for its importance to the local community, time has not stood still in this flourishing northern town. |
