| Description | This plan was 'drawn 8th June 1826'. It is signed by William MacGregor Stirling, Parish minister at Port of Menteith, who made several drawings of Inchmahome Priory for Hutton. A note by Stirling above his signature reads: 'To Lieutenant General Henry Hutton This sketch of the present state of the priory of Inchmahome (drawn from pacing only, but with a minute attention to existing phenomena)'. The details and 'existing phenomena' noted by Stirling include the approximate dimensions of the building in paces, the state of repair of walls, windows, doors and arches, the locations of the different rooms in the priory complex, and the locations of tombs and identities of those interred within them. |
