| Description | The titles on these drawings explain that the first two came from the Bishop's Palace in Elgin, and the third from Pluscarden Abbey. All three features come from paintings and depict human figures in various poses. The images may date from 1790. This is one of six images of Pluscarden Priory, founded in 1230 by Alexander II, which together form a comprehensive view of the site in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. There are two sheets, which carry depictions of the priory's decorative architecture. This is the only sheet, however, which represents the Bishop's Palace in Elgin. |
