42 THE FIFE PITCAIRNS.
Henry Pitcarne's son John is mentioned in a deed as
selling some of his land near Perth. As his father had
given him Pitlour, he perhaps did not want the two pro-
perties.
John Pitcarne de Drongy sold 10 marks of land in his
village de Blair of Forth, in the barony of Cuthilgurdy in
Perth, to Andrew Gib. 1 Dated at the said John's dwelling-
place of Pitlour, 27th Oct. 1536. (See Pitlour Branch.)
In 1 541, Aug. nth, Mr David Pitcarne, Archdeacon of
Brechin, is witness at Brechin to a charter granted by Sir Thomas
Erskine of Brechin, Knight, to his son Thomas, of the lands of
Canterland and of Kynnaird, in the shire of Kincardin. Confirmed
by the king on the 30th Aug. 1541. 2
