508 THE WEDDERBURN BOOK.
Part VI. William Thomas Wedderburn 1 born about 1807. He was chief clerk in the mail office and inspector
Chap. IV. of mails in the General Post Office 1827-60. He afterwards resided at Dunkeld, Croydon Road,
Anerley, and died there 14 June 1886 tet. 79. He is buried in Highgate Cemetery. His will
dated 26 Sept. 1846, is registered at Somerset House, and leaves all to his widow, who is the only
person named in it (L.W. 52). He had married at Trinity Church, Cloudesley Square, Islington,
on 17 Aug. 1843, Mary Jane Fishley, but by her, who survived him and died at Anerley,

1. Mary Ann, afterwards of North Petherton, co. Somerset, who died there 12 Dec. 1883, fet. 84. By
her will she left only £25 to her brother William, on the ground that he was well provided for.
There are legacies to her first cousin, George Deuman, builder, and his two sons, George and
"William (L.W. 50). She was thus born, if 84 in 1883, in 1799 or 1800, and if her age and
that of her father are correctly given in their certificates of death, the latter must have married
when 17 or 18 years of age, in about 1799.
2. Margaret Nesbit, born 1813. died unm. at Cleveland Road, Islington, 14 May 1856, letters of
administration being granted to her brother in that month (L.W. 28).

Taylor, ii. James Goodman, widower, dental surgeon at Taunton, who died about 1889. She
had no issue by either marriage, but was living, though infirm, at 3, Linden Grove, Taunton,
in 1891.

1 This account is compiled from information supplied by Mrs. W. T. Wedderburn, who sends me as her
husband's crest a seal impression of a nude figure bearing a club; by Mr. Edwin Goodman, stepson of
Caroline Wedderburn ; and from the registers of deaths and marriages, and wills at Somerset House.
Mis. Wedderburn says of her husband's father that "he had some brothers who I presume are all
dead (1891), but I know nothing of their families except that they lived in Berwick."
2 The date and place of this marriage is given on the authority of Mrs. Wedderburn, but there is no entry
of it in the books at Somerset House.
