1803, and was buried in the churchyard there (see ante, pp. 307-8). 1 There are two Part m.
portraits of her by Sir Wm. Beechey — one as a girl, which is at Marfield ; the other, Cna P- x
done after death, in my possession — and she is also one of the group by Beechey
above mentioned, p. 345. There is a miniature of her at Kippenross.
2. Mary Wedderburn was born at Bluecastle 2 August 1786 (J.W.67). She married
at Marylebone parish church 7 June 1817 {Par. Reg. there) the Rev. John Wettings, 2
chaplain to the Countess of Selkirk, and son of Edward Wellings of Ludlow, co. Salop,
by Elizabeth, daughter to Mary Brydges, heiress of Ailton, co. Hereford, and by this
marriage had issue one child, Katharine Mary Wellings (born in London 27 Dec.
1818), who married in 1839 her first cousin, Johu Stirling of Kippendavie (see
below). Mrs. Wellings died at Richmond, Portobello, 6 April 1858, aged 71 ; and is
buried at S. Mary's, Dunblane.
3. Catharine Georgiana "Wedderburn was born in London 1 Feb. 1791 (J.W. 67),
died (Nov. 22) at 9, South Eaton Place, S.W. London, 13 June 1863, aged 72, and
was buried at S.Mary's, Dunblane.
She married at Marylebone Parish Church, 13 Feb. 1810, 8 Patrick- Stirling,
eldest son of John Stirling of Kippendavie, co. Perth, and Blackgrange, co. Clack-
mannan, then a captain in the 14th Regiment of Light Dragoons, and by him
(born 25 April 1782, died at Hastings, co. Sussex, 30 March 1816) had issue two
sons and one daughter, viz., 1. John, afterwards of Kippendavie, born at Tunbridge
Wells 19 Aug. 18 1 1, and died 27 July 1882, having married in 1839 his first cousin,
Katharine Mary Wellings, by whom (died 28 June 1879, and buried at S. Mary's,
Dunblane) he had issue three sons and one daughter 4 ; 2, Patrick, afterwards of
Blackgrange and Gogar, born at Edinburgh 19 Aug. 1813, died unmarried 30 March
1839 ; and, 3, Mary Wedderburn, bom at Edinburgh 19 Nov. 1814. 5
4. Thomasina Wedderburn, born in London 19 Sept. 1793° (J.W. 67, 74), died of
a fever in Upper Grosvenor Street, 21 March 1806 (S.W. 672 ; Gent. Mag., 1806,
p. 295). Buried in the vault of S. James' Chapel, Hampstead Road.
On the death of John Kellerman Wedderburn the male representation of his grand-
grandfather and great grandfather thus devolved on the descendants of the second son
of John Wedderburn of Spring Garden and Mary Bedward, viz.,
John Wedderburn [1798-1839], afterwards of Auchterhouse, co. Forfar, who was
born at Clapham, co. Surrey, 8 Jan. 1798. On his father's death, 29 Dec. 1820, he succeeded
to the Prospect estate in Jamaica, and to a share in the Leadeuhall Street House, but
retired from the latter in May 1830, owing to the similar retirement of his elder brother
James.
He at one time resided in London, and was secretary to the Highland Society of Lon-
don 1821-26, but after his marriage lived at Beddington Park, co. Surrey, June 1823 — Nov.
1826, when he removed to Auchterhouse, co. Forfar, where he lived till his death in 1839.

2 He was also a M.D., having been in the practice of medicine previous to his taking Holy Orders. He
was boin 14 Sept. 1781.

4 The sons are (1) Patrick Stirling of Kippendavie, born 13 Nov. 1846, formerly of the Gordon Highlanders,
and Lieut.-Col. of 1st Perthshire R.V ; married 13 Sept. 1876, Margaret Mary, eldest daughter of
Rear-Admiral John Leith (by Margaret, only child and heiress of John Forbes of Blackford), and
had issue John Alexander Stirling, bom in Edinburgh 20 Sept. 1881, and Patrick Douglas Stirling,
born at Kippenross 10 Oct, 1886 ; (2) John Carolus, born 14 Dec. 1848, married in 1882, Helena,
daughter of William Clough of Llywn Offa, Wales, and had issue a daughter, Constance ; (3)
William Robert Stirling, born 30 March 1S51, married 1883, Alice, daughter of J. Hibberd of
of Chicago, U.S.A., and has issue three daughters, Alice Mary, Dorothy, Jean Wedderburn. The
daughter, Mary Katharine, born 26 June 1840, married 1866, George Macallum of Braco, co. Perth,
and has issue.
s On the death of her brother, Patrick, she succeeded under the conditions of au entail to Blackgrange and
Gogar. She married, 7 May 1840, John Davie Morries, M.D. (born 25 Oct. 1810, died 21 Oct. 1858,
buried in the Greyfriars Cemetery, Edinburgh), who took the name of Stirling. She died at Gogar
House, near Stirling, 28 April 18i)3, and is buried in the old parish church of Logie, co. Stirling. She
had issue an only child, Johu Morries Morries-Stirling, now of Blackgrange and Gogar (born
12 March 1851).
