384 Woodbridge Quaker Meeting.
"Friends appoint Andrew H anion & John Wrane to speak
to widow Mitchell that she do not talk of Peter Sonmans as it
seems shee doth, rather wish her to come to the meeting and if
yr be difference lay it before friends according to the order of
truth."
"At the Monthly Meeting held in Amboy the 8th of the 4th
Month 1687, Peter Sonmans & Mary Mitchell refer'd the whole
matter in difference betwixt them unto Miles Forster, John
Barclay, Benjamin Griffith & Edward Grig to determine the
same & does promise to agree unto there decision."
"John Barclay gives an account that he has receaved the
contribution for the formes & payed for them."
"Friends desire John Neill & Ben] amine Griffith to speak to
Benjamine Clerk about his absenting himself from friends meet-
ings & to desire him to come to next Monthly Meeting."
"At the Monthly Meeting held in Amboy the 13th of the 5th
month 1687, the friends appoynted to speak to Benjamine Clerk,
brought his answer, which was, that he would not come because
Governor Lawry called him a divil (as he sayes), wherewith
friends not being satisfied, desires George Keith & John Barclay
to speak to him again."
"At the Monthly Meeting held in Amboy the 10th of the 6th
month 1687 John Barclay brought Ben. Clerk's answer, being
the same with what he sayd before."
"At the Monthly Meeting held in Amboy the 14th of the 7th
month, 1687, William Bethell having a desyne to marry a woman
who lives in Philadelphia, desr'd a certificat from this meeting
which accordingly was granted."
"At the Monthly Meeting held in Amboy the 9th of the 9th
month 1687, John Lufborrow and Gartrud Holland proposed
there Intention of marriage to the Meeting, who apoynts them
to come next monthly meeting to receave there answer."
"At the Monthly Meeting held at Amboy the 14th of the
10th month 1687, John Reid who hitherto kept the book for this
meeting being now removed with his family to another County,
desir'd friends to order another in his stead, whereupon the Meet-
ing apoynt'd Ben. Griffith to keep the book & receave the con-
tributions."
