Capt. Edmund BarklEy and Lucy Barkley, his wife, had
the following children baptized :
Edmund BarklEy, bap. December 12, 1704.
Lewis Barkley, bap. January 19, 1706.
Lucy Barkley, bap. May 17, 1709.
Mary Barkley, bap. May 11, 171 1.
Records of Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co., Va.
(Now in the Theological Seminary at Alexandria, Va. In
these records the name is spelt indifferently "Barkley" and
"Berkley").
Sarah Barkley, dau. of Major Edmund Barkley and
Lucia Barkley, his wife, was born September 9, 1713.
(and then, seemingly the next generation) :
Edmund Barkley (or Berkley) and Mary Barkley, his
wife, had the following children baptized :
Lucy Barkley b January 5, 1729; bap. January io,
1729.
Edmund Barkley b December 5, 1729 ; bap. January 14,
1730.
Nelson BarklEy b May 16, 1773; bap. June 3, 1733.
Sarah Barkley b January 27, 1741/2; bap. February
