"Married: At West Chester, on Thursday last" (that is, 16 June, 1796) "by the
Rev. Mr. Ireland, Mr. Peter Schuyler Livingston to Miss Eliza Barclay, daughter
of Col. Thomas Barclay, of Annapolis, N. S.
**From Commercial Advertiser of Thursday, 14th August, 1817:
"Married: Last evening by the Rev. Mr. Wilkins, at Lady Mary Watts, Mr.
Henry Barclay to Miss Catherine Watts, daughter of the late Robert Watts, Esq."
47 The following memo., written by Col. Thomas Barclay, was copied by his
grandson, Walter Channing Barclay, and is still (1903) preserved by the latter's
widow, at Stamford, Conn. :
"On the 29 March, 1826, departed this life our beloved son DeLancey Barclay,
after an illness of three days. In addition to his being an amiable, correct man and
a dutiful, affectionate son and husband, he was one of the most promising and rapidly
advancing men in the British army. In the 1st Regiment of Grenadier Guards with
