(10). Elizabeth Robertson (daughter of Dr Robertson of
Kiltearn), born 14th December, 1782, the third of the " Three
Fair Maids of Kiltearn," married at Glasgow by the Rev. Robert
Balsom, 15th December, 1802, to Samuel Sandbach, Esq. of
Woodlands, Aigburth, near Liverpool, J. P. for county Lancashire.
He was a West India merchant, and realised a fortune as a
partner of the firm of Sandbach, Tinne, & Co. He served the
offices of Bailiff, Coroner, and Mayor for the Borough of Liver-
pool, and also as High Sheriff of Denbighshire in 1839. Samuel
Sandbach was born at Tarporley, county Chester, 19th August,
1769, being youngest child of Adam Sandbach of that place, by
his wife Martha Oulton, and grandson of Adam Sandbach of
Tarporley and Elizabeth his wife. He died 26th April, 1851, at
Woodlands, and was buried at St George's, Everton. Mrs
Sandbach died at Woodlands 26th September, 1859, and was
buried with her husband. Issue — ( la) Anne, born 27th September,
1803, married 26th May, 1826, to her second cousin, Charles
Stewart Parker, merchant of Liverpool, born 15th June, 1800,
died 26th October, 1868. Mrs Parker died 1st June, 1890.
Issue — (1^) Eliza Parker, born 7th November, 1827, died 23rd
December, 1840. (2d) Charles Stewart Parker, born 1st June,
1829; represented county Perth in Parliament from 1878 to
1892, and sat for Perth 1868 to 1874. He was educated at
Eton and Oxford, was Fellow of University College, and was for
some time Public Examiner. He was Private Secretary to his
uncle by marriage, Mr Cardwell, at the Colonial Office from
1864 to 1866, and sat on several Commissions. Mr Parker
accepted the appointment of Chairman of Referees on Private
Bills during the last Parliament but one in which he sat. His
residence is Fairlie House, Ayrshire. (36) Margaret Anne
Parker, born 8th July, 1830, died unmarried at Aigburth, Liver-
pool, 4th January, 1891, and was buried in St James' Cemetery,
Liverpool, (id) Sandbach Parker, died in infancy, (bd) Caroline
