(5). William, married an English lady, and left issue —
Colonel William Munro, in the 39th Regiment, and three other
sons, two of whom were in the army, and eight daughters, some
married and some unmarried.
(6). Esther, married her cousin, Mr Alexander Sutherland,
Ardullie. Issue — (la) Cecilia, died unmarried; (2a) Robert,
died in Australia, 1862 ; (Sa) Jessie, married Mr Hector Suther-
land, late banker, Beauly, and had children. Mr Alexander
Sutherland died 30th April, 1829, in his 60th year. His widow
died 27th June, 1850, aged 82.
4. Margaret Douglas (the eldest daughter of Robert Douglas,
Balcony) married Captain Robert Munro of Achinduich, parish
of Creich (second son of William Munro III. of Achannie, by his
wife, Isabella Macpherson ; they were married in 1714). Issue —
(l). John, killed by a tiger in India.
(2). Hectorina, married Gilbert Mackenzie, Invershin. He
died at Tain, 24th July, 1836 ; and his widow died there, 13th
May, 1846. Issue — (la) Robert, born 14th May, 1784, died
1791. (2a) Christy, born 14th December, 1785, married, firstly,
Macdonald. Issue, none surviving. She married, secondly,
George Cameron, Sheriff-Substitute of Ross-shire, but had no
surviving issue by him. (Sa) Donald, born 9th April, 1783, died
1838. He was a Captain in the 42nd Regiment ; married Mary
Bell. Issue — (1^) Robert, Captain in the army, died unmarried.
(2d) Eliza, married Mr Smeaton. Issue — (ic) Donald Mackenzie,
Bengal Civil Service, married a daughter of Mr Henry Lushing-
ton, Bengal C.S., son of Sir Henry Lushington. Issue — Mary
and Arthur. (2c) Robert, Bengal C.S., a member of Legislative
Council and LL.D. of St Andrews. (Sc) Agnes, married Dr
Wilson. No issue. (ic) Charlotte, married General H. Hastings
Fraser, Madias Army, and of Ardochy, Inverness-shire, as his
second wife, and had issue — David and Dr Arch. Fraser. (5c)
Charles Oswald, Captain, Bengal Royal Artillery. (2d) Marion,
second daughter of Captain Donald Mackenzie, married John
