though little of it was there ever paid
for her own particular use, the chief
concern and joy of her life being the
interest and pleasure of others.
When her grandsons came home, her
joy was as great as it could then be for
any thing ; her indulgent goodness to
them, with the freedom of a friend and
companion, made every thing easy to
them ; they had not a wish to make, she
could prevent, even by often doing
what was neither convenient nor agree-
able to herself.
September 1744, it was thought pro-
per her grandsons should go to London.
As they were but just entering into the
world, her knowledge, experience, and
continual advice, could not but be of
great use to them ; therefore she resol-
ved we should all go together, though
she owned, and it was most natural,
that her desire was, to end her days
