Still while a foul unhonoured band, 80

Bring faithless raid on Foveran's land, 230
The Baron, bold and true,
Joins with his kin that gallant fray,
28 May.
When on the banks of glittering Spey,
They check the thronging crew,
Which vainly seeks the stream to ford, 235
To aid the foes of Scotland's lord !

Through toil and trial, want and woe,
Which all from loyal service flow ! 240
