(165) Joseph Murray of Ayton, bom 25th April 1786; died 17th June 1876.
He was served heir to his father 3rd March 1830; and married, 1823,
Grace, daughter of Sir George Abercromby, fourth Baronet, who died
29th July 1876. They had issue: —
(166) George Joseph Murray of Wootton Court, Kent, bom 22nd June 1833.
Married, 3rd September 1861, Augusta, daughter of Rev. George Deane
of Bighton, Hants, and has : —
(a) Alexander Penrose Murray, born 13th July 1863. Married
first, 25th October 1891, Nina, daughter of Colonel
Alexander Solovtsoff, who died 1S94, having had: —
(1) Alexander Gordon Murray, born 30th June 1892.
He married, second, 1895, Ethel, daughter of Major-
General Arthur Hill, and has : —
(2) Charles, born 1895.
(b) George Henry Lygon Murray, born 25th May 1871. Married,
2nd April 1908, Helen, daughter of Thomas B. Uling-
worth of Shipley, Yorks.

(167) MUNGO MURRAY, sixth son of William (No. 154), born 15th July 1662; died
17 19. He married, first, Janet Arnot of Mugdrum, and had : —
(a) William (No. 168).
He married, second, Martha Forrester, and had : —
(b) John (No. 169).
(c) Alexander Murray, born 1708. Married, 1742, Lilias, daughter
of James Steuart of Allanton, and left a daughter.
(168) WILLIAM MURRAY, born 1688. Acquired lands of Pitcaithly, and married,
173 1, a daughter of Sir Alexander Lindsay of Evelix, by whom he had a
daughter. He was succeeded by his half-brother: —
(169) JOHN MURRAY, born 1706. Acquired the lands of Lintrose; and married
Amelia, daughter of Sir William Murray of Ochtertyre (No. 156), and
had issue : —
(a) Mungo (No. 170).
(b) William Murray, born 1737.
(170) Mungo Murray of Lintrose, born 1735; died 10th June 1805. Married,
Cecilia Lyon of Bridgtown, and had : —
(a) John (No. 171).
(b) William Murray, born 1765.
HlTUS recorded in Lyon Office, 1804. — Azure, three mullets argent, in the Jess
point a cross of the second surmounted by a saltire gules, and in chief a
crescent or. CREST and MOTTO: None given. [Plate IV., fig. 13.]
(171) JOHN MURRAY OF LINTROSE, born 1763. Was served heir to his father 30th
January and nth April 1806. Married Anne Gray, and was succeeded
by his son : —
(172) MUNGO MURRAY of Lintrose. Served heir to his father 10th April 1832,
and to his mother 4th May 1849.
